The Children's Closet is a selective consignment store for children in Tulsa, OK. Locally owned & operated since 1995. We have a great selection of like-new, gently used items, including clothing for babies to teens, baby gear, books and toys.
Clothing
We accept children’s clothing from newborn to size 20 for boys and newborn to size 16 for girls. We also accept designer jeans like Miss Me, True Religion, MEK, Joe's Jeans, and Big Star. And junior sizes from stores like American Eagle, Hollister, Ralph Lauren and Abercrombie. We specialize in name brand children’s wear and boutique quality clothing and shoes only. We do not accept brands from discount chain stores. Some examples of the brands we accept include Gymboree, Gap, Janie and Jack, Ralph Lauren, Hanna Andersson, Burberry, Mini Boden, Lilly Pulitzer, Hartstrings, Le Top, and all boutique brand children’s clothing. Some examples of boutique brands you might find would include labels such as Mini Boden, Anavini, Matilda Jane, Orient Expressed, Mim Pi, Lola et Moi, Chez Ami, Chabre, Catamini, Deux par Deux, Kissy Kissy, Petit Bateau, Oilily, Jean Bourget, Juicy Couture and many more.
All clothing to be consigned should meet the following requirements:
Freshly laundered.
We prefer clothing on hangers.
Children’s items not on hangers should be placed flat in a tote or laundry basket to minimize any wrinkles.
Free of any stains, holes or wear.
All buttons, snaps and zippers in working order and closed.
All pieces to an outfit should be grouped together.
Children’s shoes should be like new. They must be free of scuff marks and no excessive wear.
All items should be in ready to sell condition when you bring them in. For this reason we cannot accept clothing in garbage bags. When selecting items for consignment, ask yourself if they are in the condition in which YOU would like to buy them yourself
Nursery and Children's Furnishings
Cribs, changing tables, playpens, dressers, lamps, nightlights, mobiles, monitors and crib bedding sets will all be accepted if in excellent condition and provided they meet all current safety standards. Cribs must be fixed gate only. No drop side cribs will be accepted for consignment. Please call ahead for larger items to check for space availability.
All gear and cribs should be of current style and meet all current safety standards.
Whenever possible, please include the owner’s manual and assembly instructions.
Baby gear is often recalled for minor problems. Please do a quick recall search before bringing items in to save you the trouble transporting them in the event there has been a recall. You can do a search on the Consumer Product Safety Commission web site: http://www.cpsc.gov/
We cannot accept any recalled item for resale.
Pricing
Management will set pricing. We will generally price clothing at around 30-40% of the retail price depending on the condition. Gear will go for closer to 40-70% of the retail price. We constantly check online for retail prices and use the lowest advertised price as our base. For furniture or large/expensive items we will work with the consignor to set a price and will offer a higher percentage to the consignor. Please call for details.
